Most quilters are familiar with Jelly Roll Patterns! In fact, jelly rolls have become one of the most popular quilting crazes in quite a while. Here's one of my recent jelly roll quilts:
This quilt was super easy and I didn't even use a specific jelly roll pattern to accomplish this. In fact, to make this quilt, I simply sewed 4 jelly roll strips together the entire length of the strip. I ended up with 10 of these strip sets. Next, I took each set, and cut 8 1/2" blocks from them. If I recall correctly, I had about 50 squares. Then I sewed them together, alternating each block. Each row of sewn together strip contained 6 blocks. This gave me 8 strips (2 blocks were left over - that would make a cute matching pillow), and then I put them all together to create a cute little lap quilt that went together quickly. The finished size of this quilt was about 48x64.
I quilted it with a simple all-over meander pattern. Because of the jelly roll being pre-cut, I was able to get this quick little quilt finished up in just a few days.
Jelly Roll Patterns are quite fun to collect! Well, for that matter, jelly rolls are fun to collect too!
